Now before anyone gets excited, this is merely a proposal. I haven't spoken to anyone about this, nothing is in the works, it's just an idea of mine that I think with some considerable effort, could be pulled off.

HoC has always been a small community. The day's where it was more "known" were the ones where Dymdez and his reputation carried those who felt that had something to offer to the H2 world as whole to the limelight. It's my opinion that it wasn't individual Halo 2 skill that made people interested, it was more the thought of a "brotherhood" (for lack of a better word) of people, who had above average skill, and more to the point, got a long really well. HoC was more of a VIP forum, for people that didn't want to be know for their dedication to the game, but more for the friends and people that they had gathered along the way. I myself have come to love and adore many of people I have met here, a lot of whom I still don't know all to well. I think that a project like this could really bode well. If not to alert the H2 world that we are here, to simply give us all something to do.

Now, H3 is just around the corner, so it would be stupid to undertake a H2 project. As many of us as there are that would love to do H2, I think it would be pointless. Not only would we really on the very few people that can record, but it would be too much of a mammoth task to begin. Once H3 comes, people will obviously play less H2. Combine that with the fact we all have jobs and studies today, I don't really think it would be worth the effort.

So really, what this thread is about, is generating interest. I'm offering my services to you lot, in organizational and editing capacity (combined with that British accent) in return for some enthusiasm and help.

There will be many people reading this that will say "lolz HoC kids r funni" and there will be those who are more mature and will be thinking "Hey, it could easily be so much fun, all it requires is a little respect for each other and willingness to participate". For starter, we are going to need at least 4 editors I would say, not because one person alone couldn't do it, but because I would hate for anyone to get stressed out and have the fun drained from what should be a completely awesome experience. We would also need around 8 people (that would be a comfortable number) of whom can capture video. Saved films are obviously the key to involving everyone in this, and so we need people to help with that side of thing. Then there would have to be a few people who would be organizers, willing to devote time to make sure everyone is getting along ok with any responsibilities they have, and also are not feeling left out. Everyone's ideas are valuable, no matter how big, small or ridiculous they might be. It is after all a community tage, not something for which a bunch of people can take the glory.

Again, before you all get excited, it's important to realize it WILL be a lot of hardwork, but the more people there are on board, willing to jobs of all sizes, the easier it will bill.

It would be sad to think that this website is always just going to "exist", rather than be an active part of the gaming world.

Glory hunters need not apply, and people with no interest whatsoever should also sod off. But just keep this in mind. Every single person that is a member here, that has/is used/using HoC for some purpose, be it communicating with friends, making new ones or just simply enjoying yourselves, you are all enjoying it for free. To make something a proper community, you should all be willing to make small sacrifices and give something back, not for the sake of keeping the website alive, but for the sake of the human beings that come here for exactly this: a good time.

You know what creeps, we may not get along at times, but I really like this idea. You can count me in. I would enjoy doing this with you guys.

Sounds like a great idea, i would record but cant do colour in PAL 60 and not sure if any external ones do, if there is can someone PM me the link to them on an ENGLISH website please, if i do get a new one id love to take part.

Is it going to be hard to transfer a saved video from H3 to a computer to edit? What would you need to do it...

You send your saved films to the designated editors, along with a PM explaining what bits you want from it. They record it.

Wow I love this idea. We once had a hoc montage but it wasn't really good and it was for H2. I'll do this. But I will have to send my saved clips to an editor.

So this is going to be only halo 3?
Because right now (even though I pre-ordered the last Halo 3 limited edition in my town last night) am saving a little money (like uh..10-15 euro's) to buy Halo:Mac. Which is Halo 1 for the mac (omfg obvious) and since my MacBook has a better graphics card than my Dell, recording on it will be tons easier (no extreme frame drops like from steady 30 to 4-5 FPS) and will look better...
Meaning that I will start recording halo 1 when I get it.

If no, then I will probably fix up my own halo montage if I feel like doing one, and I will record halo 3, well...save the films and pass them on to the editors/recorders.

Yeah that's cool. I expect everyone will want to send clips in. I just thought I'd make this thread a month before H3's release so we can get some poeple that want to help out. No point organizing it all myself, it's after supposed to be a community effort.
