Can someone link me to a tut or show me themselves how to do this? I mainly want to be able to make a GIF out of a TV show scene. I think you use ImageReady right? Or is that only for images?

gifs are made using Imageready, and for video clips you just open them up in IR if they are either AVI or Quicktime or Mpeg (I am not so sure about the latter) where they appear as frames which can be individually edited.

To save them they must be put under file -> Save optimised as... -> whatever your name wishes to be and as a .gif file.

You may need to look on different sites to find some .GIF tutorials.

I do some .GIF myslef but not the kind you are intrested in though. I only use Adobe Photoshop CS2 and then I transferr over to Adobe Imageready CS2. And do the Animation in there and Save Optiomize As. Not Save or Save As..Use 'Save Optiomize As'

Look at www.Planetrenders.net or www.Good-tutorials.com or www.Pixel2life.com . I'm not sure what other sites have .GIF Tutorials or if those have them..

Get a movie,
Go to windows movie maker and open it..cut the part you want and save it as wmv/avi or w.e.
Open in Adobe image ready.
Resize, shabangabang.

And if you want to add text..just add text with the text tool but be sure to be on the frame you want it to be on.

Edit: Zeroh..all three sites are utter shit for learning them and Planetrenders is about Photoshop and GIMP..not image ready...

Everything KaBooZ said is true, but you CANNOT use wmv on Imageready, and trust me I have tried.

Well.. WMM usually saves AVI as standard, so yeah =).

Well a 5 second clip has like 40 frames. So would I need to add text to like, 20 of them if you wanted to see the text for at least a second?

Well..actually it would be 2.5 seconds, and yeah. That just depends on the clip tho. Maybe use a bigger clip?
