Been working on sprites with verticle allinements, recently. I'm a minimalistic sort of kid, so if you complain about effects, I'll Falconpunch you. Just a heads up.

I really don't care if you are into minimalism, the sigs just look dull without some effects. All I see is brushing and smudging. Give or take an odd filter.

I kind of like the first, but the second is ugly and lacks anything that'd make it interesting.

Apparently you don't get the point of minimalism. Which the sig you currently are showing follows most of the rules to. So I feel that you have no room to talk. Pardon my blut responce.

dRO: I know what you mean, I know what I was going for in the second one, but it just didn't work out the way I wanted it to. I may do it again with a different style, but for now, I'm leaving it. Working on a different project.

Luhmayoooo, are you serious? Minimalism is wayyyy different then brushing + smuding + sprite. Go study minimalism, then retry it. Besides that, the tag in my sig area is made by someone else as a gift for me.

Monochromatic? Close, I threw in white, whoops. Primary colours? I miss that. But these aren't the rules of minimalism. These are common traits. If you match one, you fit it. It also applies to music. Most techno or house music is minimalistic.
In simplest terms: Repeating the same thing within a piece. Minimalism.

And on top of that, art is a matter of opinion. And I respect the fact that you have yours. But I feel those two pieces are done (the first, done, I like it; second, scrapped). I was welcome critisms to see how far along this gfx discussion forum was. Seems like no one has been to Charmed-Arts, National Sig League, or Global Sig Alliance. I suggest finding those.

If any part of this is considered rude by a mod, or anyone. I don't mind any part being edited out. I'm just being straight forward here. :]

oh you're one of those people. the kind who can't take any criticism about their work and deem it necessary to write an essay for each one of their posts defending why they're right.

there was another guy like that, i can't remember his name, but needless to say he was very annoying.

anyway, the first tag is decent, but that sprite is way overused. the 2nd tag looks like something i'd make, and that's not a good thing.

I know the background is plain on BOTH of them. I know I could've done a little better, a black layer with the noise filter set to lighten or the like. And I plan on adding that to my next tag like this.

What none of you seem to understand is that it's art. When the artist is done, they're done. A true artist stops listening after they get annoyed and just gives up. I'm there now. You guys can post what you like, all I'll say is "thanks for the comments".

I mean this in the least offensive way possible, but if you can't live with CnC on this forum, you're not going to last long.
