If definately depends. If you constantly play MLG I'd say 1.5 is great. But if your one of those kids who loves to play Socials. Anything below 2-2.5 is bad.
Just my opinion though.

Socials - 2.30+

I say 1.5 and up is fine, but it depends on how many games you've played, and how much you actually play for realz.

I would say you would have to play someone to determine their real skill level. If you could look at what the pros k/d ratio would be at MLG events it would be far less then what you would see in their bungie stats page. It also depends on if you are playing by yourself in matchmaking...that has a huge effect unless you are BIGGS and can pwn everyone and there mother by himself. But, I think a 1.5 is good, 1.75 is impressive and anything over 2.00 - I would be a little timid to play 1v1 :/ ! I also think that just b/c someones k/d ratio is low, I don't count them out to be a good player.

It completely depends on what you play and what you are trying to do. I could go into rumble pit and my KD would be 5.5 or something. If you just play team slayer and lonewolves and stuff with AR start then 1.5 and up is great. But be prepared to have a lower KD if all you play is MLG. Sometimes in a Team Slayer MLG the guy that goes positive 3 is the hero.

Lol, my k/d the last time I checked was like 1.2...But the thing is, I was never good at Halo 2, I was lucky to get 10 kills...So when I started playing Halo 3 I was actually playing against people that were the same skill as me(n00bz) But now that I've gotten better I play people that I'm better than...And I've played sooooo many games that now I'd have continually go +10 every game in order to raise it...Thats why I play objective =]
