Thats how you have to start out though. You have to go to the first couple events with people that arent good and meet really good people, play with them, and end up teaming with them. You pretty much just have to move of the latter untill you get a good team

Freak, if I go to MLG with a local or random team, what if we get trashed cuz my team blows??? I won't get high at all. We went to Dalla 07 and raped with a 1 day local team, what could happen on a good team?
