So us mods have been vaguely discussing a Weekly Interview behind the scenes for awhile now, and I finally got the oppurtunity to choose a candidate and go with it. The person I chose for the first weekly interview was a regular here at HoC named Kossick.

I asked Kossick a few questions and he responded quite nicely. Here's how it went...

Me: Yea but no one near as important or interesting as me

Me: Ok, so what is your full name?
Kossick: Thomas Joseph Bullock, but I am known as either Tom or Kossick
Me: I see, and how old is this "Kossick" man that you speak of?
Kossick: around 5 years, The panzergnome came up with it
Me: Ha, I meant how old are you, but whatever
Kossick: lol, my bad
Kossick: I am 17
Me: lol ok. So I'm going to assume that Kossick was a gamertag of yours? Possibly the first?
Kossick: no actually, Kossick is my most recent gt
Kossick: I was called Kossick because I used to video record some stupid jackass-esque stuff for the Panzergnome
Kossick: I was a coward, and so I was called Kossick, after Rick Kosik, but that embarrassed me, and so I changed the spelling
Kossick: still, it makes me laugh
Me: lol I see
Kossick: yeah, lol
Me: So where exactly do you reside from?
Kossick: The small city of Hereford, which is in England, on the border with Wales
Kossick: the city really has very little, prob about 60000 people, no more
Me: So how exactly did you become involoved with Halomega?
Kossick: I play alot with the Panzergnome, I live near him and he has been my best friend for many years now, and I started playing with someone called Chaos (Amrit)
Kossick: he sent me a message saying to join HoC a few days after it opened, and so I did
Me: That pretty much covers that then, hah. So what do you think you're favorite game is besides halo and why?
Kossick: Hmmm, it has to be an rpg. I can either say Kotor (I have completed both), or look like the bad guy and say Final Fantasy
Kossick: IT has to be Final Fantasy- preferably VIII
Me: Yea, that's probably the most favorable among the Final Fantasy Fans
Kossick: lol
Me: So besides gaming, what else do you like to do in your free time?
Kossick: well, as I am sure you have noticed, I go on Ps.
Me: Yes I have, and I must say your work is quite impeccable
Kossick: I also try to learn how to use Flash, Vegas and hopefully After effects soon
Kossick: thank you
Kossick: sports wise, I play squash weekly and I used to play Table tennis a lot
Me: Oh? I'm an avid player of Table Tennis myself, and I have a question for you based on Squash
Me: What is the difference between Racquetball and Squash?
Kossick: ok
Kossick: the main one I can think of is, I have heard of squash, rofl
Kossick: I think the rules are likely to be the main thing
Me: You're not going to believe this, but EVERY person I've asked that question to, they've either said "I don't know what squash is" or "I don't know what racquetball is"
Kossick: lol, superb
Kossick: we don't get racquetball over here, as far as I know
Me: Yea, I think it's Squash over there, and Racquetball over here, but I think it's basically the same thing
Kossick: yeah, the rules are different
Kossick: squash in the uk has sets first to 9, but only the server gets points
Kossick: In the US, it is first to 13, and either player gets the point
Me: Oh, I hadn't known that, thanks

Kossick: ok, and np
Me: How would you describe your personality?
Kossick: well, I am seen as a very friendly funny person to people who meet me, but I am very thoughtful and conscious, I would like to think
Kossick: I do put others before me
Me: Well that's a good thing, and you definetly seem that way

Me: Do you have any unique talents or facts about yourself?
Kossick: I wouldn't say that I have any special talents, as far as I know, but I think I have the most indepth knowledge of theoretical physics of anyone at HoC, lol
Kossick: I have a tendancy to read into things in my spare time
Kossick: I have read 3 books by Richard Feynman- my hero
Me: Wow, very intriging. It's good to have a mentor
Kossick: the man was a genius, literally
Me: Well I can't say I've ever read any of his books, or even knew about him, but if I spot his name I'll think of you
Kossick: lol
Me: Do you have a favorite food?
Kossick: lol, yeah
Kossick: I am a nutcase for Pizza from my local Pizzeria
Me: Ah pizza....everyone loves pizza. Do you like any topings on it?
Kossick: No, I am way too plain for it, I can do ham, but I just love the taste of fresh Mozerella and freshly grown tomatoes
Me: Eh, I'm more of a "The greasier, the better" kind of pizza guy, but that's respectable too
Kossick: lol, I cannot abide the whole Pizza Hut approach- Dominoes is acceptable though
Kossick: I have grown out of greasy, and that is not good for Uni life
Me: Hah, true that.
Me: How about media? Do you have a favorite T.V. Show or movie?
Kossick: Yes, TV wise I love Law and Order Criminal Intent, whilst for film is probably Fight Club, for it's noir comedy and impressive execution
Me: I feel like such a tool. So many people say Fight Club is good, but yet I've never seen 5 minutes of it
Kossick: ha, it is definitely worth it
Kossick: I am also a big fan of Mel Brooks, and his outlandish style of comedy
Me: Aren't we all
Kossick: lol
Me: Ok, if you could change anything in the world, what would it be?
Kossick: hmm, tough question
Kossick: probably me, lol

For our second Interview of the Week we spoke to our beloved ex-admin () Vorlx. I had the pleasure of doing it because FxL was unable to make it. It ended up being a little long even after I edited out a few minor things, so I split it up for readability purposes. The first part is HoC related questions, then the personal questions, and finally the conclusion.

Me: Okay, are you ready?
Vorlx: Sure =)
Me: Let's start off by having you introduce yourself.
Vorlx: Hi, I am Michael, you know me as Vorlx. I am 29, an IT Professional by trade, married with 2 kids.
Me: Wow, I never knew how old you are. So where do you live?
Vorlx: I live in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Broken Arrow is a suburb of Tulsa and is in the NE corner of the state.
Me: To everyone's dismay you recently sold hoc, do you have anything to say to all of us who miss you and Syko so much?
Vorlx: Well, I can't say much for Syko but as for myself. I will be around, I enjoyed being part of the building of the wonderful community that we have and hopefully Shark will keep it running for years to come.
Me: Hopefully that's the case. Shark sounds like a cool guy, but I still shed 8 or 9 tears when I first found out the news.
Me: How did you come to own hoc in the first place? From what Syko said you two had not spoken much before, is that correct?
Vorlx: Ok poker game is over full attention now.
Me: LOL, thanks for making the interview your priority.
Vorlx: We had only spoken over dinner for a very short time, general conversation. He mentioned some of the things he was doing with an associate named Paul. I had been trying to find ways to break back into the internet market. I had a dedicated server ready for deployment. Originally he had engaged me for mygamerspace or to be a stable video host.
Vorlx: Due to the bandwith associated with the video host portion I wasn't able to help in that area.
Vorlx: Awhile after that he then engaged me on helping mainly host a new site.
Vorlx: I was interested but for more so than just being a server host, I wanted to be apart of it, to not only invest but to be a partial owner.
Vorlx: We talked on the phone about it for awhile and agreed to terms and so the foundation was laid.
Me: I see. So what are some of your favorite memories from hoc?
Vorlx: Mainly just watching it grow from a small little community to this thriving site. Being apart of the good and the bad. I had a good time with everyone while I was here and even more so just the relationship that was formed with Syko. We became pretty good friends and talk all the time. I have many memories of long conversations regarding HoC.
Me: Well that's good you and Syko formed such a strong friendship.



Me: We're done with the hoc related questions, let's get to know Vorlx, the man. What do you do with all the free time you have these days?
Vorlx: I wish that I had free time. I have a very busy schedule with work. During the last year I became the sole Tech Lead at work. This requires very long hours during the week and on weekends. I also have a wife and 2 kids so having time for much of anything isn't common.
Me: I remember you telling me you are on call 24 hours a day, that has to be rough on you. When do you find time to sleep?
Vorlx: I rarely sleep. When I do its very little.
Me: You stopped playing Company of Heroes, so are there any other games you play now?
Vorlx: I havn't started playing anything new yet. However, I am thinking about trying Supreme Commander and Command & Conquer 3 should be out soon.
Me: And how is online poker going?
Vorlx: Pretty damn good actually. The only downside is that it gets boring. I usually finish in the top 3 in most every tournament.
Me: That's good to hear. Personally I don't like online poker because of the crazy hands. Most of the time I lose even when I have a straight. It seems like people get a full house every hand.
Vorlx: There are definitely some crazy hands in online poker. I get screwed by random flushes all the time.
Me: Haha, I know the feeling.
Me: How would you describe your personality?
Vorlx: Thats a tough question for me, I generally don't sit and think to much about what my personality is. I am a Scorpio. I can be very Obsessive, Compulsive, Understanding, Perfectionist. I am also very to myself. It totally depends on my mood really.
Me: That sounds like a pretty accurate description of you. =)
Me: Do you have any unique talents or interesting facts about yourself?
Vorlx: Nothing really unique. I am just your average guy trying to make it in the world =)
Me: Sounds intriguing! What are your favorite TV shows and movies?
Vorlx: I am into Movies like: 12 Monkeys, Seven, Gladiator, Braveheart, The Patriot, Jurassic Park Series, Star Wars, The Rock, Con Air.. My favorites are the first three.
Vorlx: My favorite tv shows are: Prison Break (new fav), Lost, All of the Law and Orders, CSI (Vegas) and CSI NY, Miami sucks.
Me: I hear those are all good, and you're right about Miami being bad compared to the others.
Vorlx: It's horrible. Horratio needs to die in a burning fire.
Me: And what kind of music do you listen to? Any Brand New?
Vorlx: Hahaha, Brand New's music isn't bad but I am more into the rock/alternative scene. I like new stuff, old stuff. I love older Metallica, Gun's N Roses, Motley Crue, all the shit that came out before most of the people on the site were born =)
Me: Is there a reason Metallica fans always predede it with "old?" Is their new music that bad?
Vorlx: Their new music is mainstream. Basically since the 'black' album. It isn't bad music by any means but it is a very very different Metallica.
Me: That's what I've heard. What are your favorite foods?
Vorlx: I like most anything Italian. I also like Pizza, Chinese Food, Mexican. I am not a horribly picky eater. As long as its dead and doesn't have fur I'm good.
Me: Good call on the furless thing.
Vorlx: Have you had fur before? It's not a good thing. Pun intended.



Me: Hehe. You seemed to have a lot of fun with your Kenny smilie. Who REALLY killed him?
Vorlx: I haven't figured it out yet. It's either Merk or Syko. Damn them both to hell.
Vorlx: Wait... do you know?
Vorlx: You do don't you?

Vorlx: Don't hold out on me man...WHO KILLED KENNY!

This week I got the "pleasure" of sitting down and cyber talking with Syko. Read what went down including everything from kissing tips, hot golf girls and arm wrestling...

Me: Hello Syko, welcome to HoC's own member interview, although you are just more of a member.
Me: Let's start off with some basics. What is your full name?
DaSyKoPaTh: Justin
DaSyKoPaTh: Allen

Me: Let's try to keep this on one line at a time, please.
DaSyKoPaTh: Hey, ANYTHING for you Will.
Me: Fucking right now answer the next question. Where exactly does this Justin Allen Moore reside?
DaSyKoPaTh: Just like my profile says on HoC -- Houston, TX
Me: I have a cousin that lives there, it's rather gay. Anyways, I know that you play a MAJOR role with the development of HoC, and I'd like to know how everything started, in a brief summary.
DaSyKoPaTh: A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to help him start a website, so we started brainstorming. We had a ton of ideas, but the one that we like the most was the Halo Forum. One thing led to another and here we are today.
Me: And with that started the legend you know today as Halomega. Now I know your forum name is "Syko" is that similar to your current gamertag?
DaSyKoPaTh: HoC Syko and lXl Syko lXl are my two current tags. I've had over 30 though.
Me: Wow, that's a lot. What was your first ever gamertag and how did think of it's name?
DaSyKoPaTh: Hou Syko was the first. Syko was taken, and I'm from Houston, so Hou Syko it was. The problem was that everyone kept thinking it was something from Japan, or saying 'How Syko, wtf does that mean ?" Got tired of it and got it changed when the trial ran out.
Me: So you've basically kept with the whole "Syko" theme through out your whole Xbox Live career?
DaSyKoPaTh: Way before that. My member date on AOL dates back to 94 I believe. My cousin used to call me Syko since I would do just about anything without fear of hurting myself.
DaSyKoPaTh: And so it was born.
Me: I see. I'm also glad you know how to correctly spell.
Me: How did you get into what the world knows as "Halo"?
DaSyKoPaTh: Lanning it up over at my cousin's house before I got an XBOX. When H2 came out for the XBOX I sold my PS2 and bought a new XBOX just for Halo 2.
DaSyKoPaTh: A few months later I was playing on XBL, making a ton of friends and getting better and better. Hell, I was a 24 when that actually meant something.
Me: I'm trying to conduct a truthfull interview here, please don't contaminate with lies
DaSyKoPaTh: heheheh. Believe it or not, before my son was born and I was able to play h2 all the time, I was actually pretty damn good.
DaSyKoPaTh: With him came constant distraction.


Me: Let's stay on that topic for now. I'm going to assume that you need to be with him ALOT now, as well as the rest of your family. Is there anything else you like to do in your free time when they're not around?
DaSyKoPaTh: I've been playing a ton of golf lately. Before that addiction it was paintball, and before that it was my old motorcycle.
Me: Now when you say Golf, do you mean a golfing game or real golf? I know you play Tiger Woods
DaSyKoPaTh: No I mean real Golf. I try to play at least once a month, usually on Sundays when everyone else is at church. Golf course breakfast is the SHIT !!!!
Me: I can't say I've ever eaten at a golf course before, but I will have to go sometime.
DaSyKoPaTh: It's all fresh cooked, right in front of you however you want it. Usually they only charge about $4 for an all you can eat buffet. It's worth 4x that much at the course we play at.
DaSyKoPaTh: Not to mention the girls at the course.... They are absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
Me: I'll have to edit that out, just in case your wife decides to check the forum...
Me: If I were to meet you for the first time, how would you describe your personality?
DaSyKoPaTh: My wife knows I look. She just won't let me touch...... Bitch.....
DaSyKoPaTh: My personality.. Hmm... Very self confident, I'm not a follower by no means. I have very strong family values and I'm not afraid to stand up for what I believe in whatsoever. If you catch me on the wrong day you could easily just look at me and think I'm the meanest s.o.b. you've ever laid your eyes on, and it could be true.

DaSyKoPaTh: At the moment, I'm going to have to say Chinese food. The wifey won't eat it with me anymore, so it's not very often I get to have it. I can't stand Mexican food because of her.
Me: Lol, I like your taste in food. How about media? What is your fav T.V. Show and Movie?
DaSyKoPaTh: I don't get to watch much TV due to the amount of hours I've been putting in at work and helping out my friends. If I had to choose I'd say The Simpsons. I've been watching them for years and they still haven't gotten old.
Me: I love you for not saying South Park and choosing The Simpsons.
DaSyKoPaTh: Movie, favorite of all time I'd have to say American History X. There's a TON of other movies that I think come close, but that one's on the top of my list.
DaSyKoPaTh: I can't stand South Park.
Me: I want to have your next child. And I've never actually seen AHX, although I do have it on DVD
Me: are there any hidden facts or unique talents that you have?
Me: Apparently typing is not one of them....
DaSyKoPaTh: lmao
DaSyKoPaTh: There's not really any that I'd care to share on the site

DaSyKoPaTh: I'll give you a few. I'm pretty damn good at paintball. We had a 3-Man tournament here locally in the league I used to play in, and we took First 4 tournaments in a row.
DaSyKoPaTh: The only reason that I stopped playing is because of money.
DaSyKoPaTh: We shot over 2 cases of paintballs each in a tournament, and at $90 case it gets expensive
Me: My friend plays paintball, and it is quite expensive, that's why I never got into it. Back on topic...
Me: If you could change 1 thing about the entire world, what would it be and why?
DaSyKoPaTh: The fact that you have to have money to be happy. The world should not be driven around money or how much you have/don't have.
Me: I'll have to agree. It is quite a pathetic world we have today. If everyone did things out of pure kindness, it would be a much better place.
DaSyKoPaTh: Do unto others as you would have them do to you.
DaSyKoPaTh: Those are words that I try to live by, and so far they've worked out quite nicely.

Me: lol Gotcha. Anyways, there is something interesting about you racially, that most people on HoC don't know. Is that correct?
Uncrwnd: Lol yeah I you can say that. I'll probably never live this down. I'm 50% black and 50% polish
Uncrwnd: I'm not your average half black half white kid
Me: Indeed you aren't. For the first few months I played with you, I thought you were the whitest kid alive, but when I saw your myspace I was quite astonished.
Uncrwnd: Yeah i don't sound that black online but I am

Me: So I've known you for a long time, and you were actually the one to introduce me to HoC, but not Halomega, Halownage. How exactly did you come upon the old HoC?
Uncrwnd: Well back when I used to go on AIM a lot, i always looked into Dymdez's profile. I saw a link to a site he ran and joined up. It was better than halo-pro.com which was where I posted at for a while before i found HoC
Me: And now, you are one of the oldest members in the HoC dynasty. What's your personal opinion of the old HoC to the current one?
Uncrwnd: I loved the old HoC. The newer HoC isnt anything like what it was in it's earlier days. We had a lot of respectable members and great guys. I'm sure you've noticed now that we've got a lot more spammers now than we do anything else
Me:Honest opinion, and yes we are growing quite alot. New members is an awesome thing, but there are the occasional bad eggs.

Uncrwnd:: I just made it up while listening to a 50 cent song one day. It's stuck with me for about 5, 6 years now
Me: Was Halo the reason for first subscribing to XBL?
Uncrwnd: Yup. My friends were all talking about XBL and Halo. And this was back when all I used to play was playstation. I had no clue what Halo or XBL was. They pretty much got me into it and suckered me into getting an XBOX and a live account. And here I am today.
Me: Lol, caving into peer pressure huh? Just kidding.
Me:Do you have another favorite game besides Halo?
Uncrwnd: Hell yeah
Uncrwnd: Wii Sports
Uncrwnd: Lol Wii sports is fun. Especially the bowling. I love playing it.

Uncrwnd: Lol I'm a real laid back chill guy. I don't let to much stupid shit bother me. That's why I never get mad while playing H2 or reading dumbass replies on the forum.

Uncrwnd: Anything. I'm up to do anything with my friends. Whether It's go to the beach, chill, drink anything

Uncrwnd: Naw after seeing Snot and gunna go out in first round at Charlotte I'm not to sure how great I'd do myself at Chicago. I'm hoping for the best though
