It's my favorite 4th of July tradition, cuz it's so entertaining. Joey Chestnut finally won last year, so that should make Kobayashi want it more that he finally lost (especially since he said he had a jaw injury last year.)

This year's conest should be very close, and hopefully a new record.

To be honest we don't have them here (at least publicly), so I cannot profess a feeling them for or against, although I get to feel any contest publicising and encouraging gluttony is probably a bit of a step backwards as far as human progression is concerned.

no way dude, this dates back to like 1916. it's international so i woulda thought they at least aired it over there. and it's not a generic hot dog eating contest, it's sponsored by Nathan's which is this famous hot dog place in new york.

and i just read that they reduced the time limit from 12 to 10 minutes. so most likely no record, but that should make a little more competitive.
