The way your connection works is called packets. Basically playing Halo is packets being sent to and from your connection. The less packets you send and receive the laggier your halo 2 playing is.
What the Flooder does is he 'floods' your internet connection with an abundance of packets. Too much packets and your internet just shuts off. And I don't think you can get it going again till he stops flooding it. By the way if you report him and get his IP he can be charged with a felony. Stuff like that is a federal offense. What a fag

You are absolutely correct but there is 1 way to prevent it...
Flooders have a certain number of bots that do their dirty work for them so their internet doesnt lag... If you continuously take yourself into blue screen from a standby button then he wastes bots
when you go into blue screen he thinks he has you out of the game so he stops flooding... As soon as you get back into the game quit out so he doesnt flood you again...
Thats the only way to prevent yourself from going offline for 20-30 minute periods
