Ok, I wasn't sure where to put this, so this looks like a good spot.


Some of you have seen me saying in threads that I'm going to be leaving soon, and were like WTF ??!?!?!? Yeah, June 8 I'm leaving headed for Iraq. I signed on with LSI to go over there and work on Hummers and other Military Wheeled Vehicles.

It wasn't an easy decision. It was, however, a family decision. It will double my pay, open new career paths, and allow me to finally get completely out of debt if my money is managed properly.

I'll be living on base, and I'm not allowed to leave even if I wanted to. I'm not sure what my living conditions will be like. I've been told it could be a 16 man tent, or it could be a 2 bedroom 1 bath home shared with a roommate. It all depends on what base I get stationed at and how far behind the times the area is.

The biggest concern for me is internet. I can't be guaranteed that I'll have a ton of net access there. All of the bases have access, it's just restricted in some bases. I'm hoping that I get on a good base, where I can get internet in my residence as well. If that's the case, then I'll be able to be on the site a LOT, since I won't have my son or my wife pulling me in 8k different directions when I'm trying to be busy on the site. If not, I'll likely come home, because if I can't communicate with my family it's not worth me being there. My son means the world to me, and I'm doing this to be able to give him the lifestyle he deserves and that I didn't have.

If I have net, and a good living environment, you can expect to see me asking you guys to get me a ton of different books and such as well from the net. I'd like to get more into coding, scripting, etc. I know that I can learn it, I just don't have the time to learn it right now. When I do have the time I can't concentrate due to my wife and my son not understanding what I'm trying to do and asking 12 million questions. Hopefully not only will this benefit my family and me, but also the site.

That's what's going on. I've done my research and my mind is made up, so don't try to change it. If any of you have questions, I'll gladly answer them.

Ironically enough I have two concerns. One is the obvious, how am I going to deal w/o sex for that long.

The other is wtf is going to happen with my site ? We've all put soooo much work into it and I'm really not in the mood to not be able to help guide it in the direction that it needs to go. Mike can only do so much, and Paul is hella busy with life.
