so i finally got a PC that could be used with a capture card, i'm looking for a CC that is compatible with vista and a laptop that is fairly priced based upon quality of the image. and what would be a good program to use?

And ATI Wonder Pro is a great capture card, but are usually internal and a bit hard to set up. Also, most capture cards come with their own programs. So I guess search around, and maybe ask people who work at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. if they can help you.

He has a laptop, so ATI cards won't work since they're internal. Try looking for like a Dazzel 150 or something? I really don't know much about video cards but I'll help you out the best I can.

well i went to my local best buy and circuit city, they both did not carry any capture cards, so i'm just gonna buy it online, so a link to a website would be helpful

Did you ask them if they had capture cards? Cause they're actually called video cards, ask them if they have any external video cards, that can record an A/V or S Video output.

If you get a dazzle try and get a 90, 150's plain out suck. With a 90 you can capture in Vdub I'm pretty sure and if you do S-Video the quality is amazing.

S-video does greatly increase the quality but other things help.
