recording is sd while playing in hd? - Halo 3 Forum

So basically my xbox is hooked up to an hd tv through the red, green, blue, red, and white ports. The yellow video cable is unused, so I assume there's no signal running through it. That being said, can I record with this setup or would I have to buy an hd cap card?

I have the same problem with mine when I plug it in non high def it gets only sound and when I plug in the high def ones into the red white and yellows I get gray split screen.
