well after 3 months of buying random things updating software and looking all over the internet for Cables, video splitters etc i have finally got my capt card woking and recorded my first clip today.
Theres only one problem the quality is both bad on the tv and on the preview screen so if someone can tell me how to set it up plz, i use studio 10 and have it set to Divx format and im getting the video signal through S video...

and the other problem is that i dont know wat to do with the clips once ive recorded them, lol, i dnt know how to compres them an shit and get my rape clips onto Hoc so if someone can help me do that aswell it would be much aprreciated.

Don't capture with Divx. Not a good idea at all.

Capture with huffyuv or uncompressed. Uncompressed is large but quality is the best. As for what to do with your clips, the halo community seems to love the Windows Media Video codec, so open it in Vegas, go to File > Render As, choose WMV, choose 3mbps video andrender.
